(Cultural & Heritage Tour)

Full day – Best value all inclusive tour

On this cultural & heritage tour you will experience all that a standard Sani Pass tour offers, plus the trip to Makhapung, a small Basotho village deep in the highlands of Lesotho. This village is still untainted by tourists, with all it’s cultures and traditions preserved. This day offers a real insight into the lives of the Basotho nation.

From Sani Top we cross the Sani Plateau before climbing the Black Mountain Pass (3240m). From here you can see Thabana Ntlenyana (the highest point in Southern Africa). We then head down the Sehonghong Valley past Highland Basotho villages and on to Makhapung village.

Here you will visit the resident traditional healer, observe a unique song & dance routine and a secret ceremonial dance. Interact and lunch with the villagers. A true, once in a lifetime, cultural experience.

This is a completely unique experience in which a meal (if you have specific meal requirements – please be sure to notify us immediately after the booking – email ( info@majoradventures.com ), an additional private guide and activities are all  included in the price.  This is a sustainable tourism project.
